A few days after Gareth Bale appeared to state his intention to return to Real Madrid next season, his agent Jonathan Barnett has made it known that such a thing is in doubt and that they will discuss what will happen in the summer.
Bale is donating brilliant appearances to Tottenham Hotspur this season, but he still has one year left on his contract with Real Madrid as his loan spell at north London is coming to an end.
The Welshman seemed to want to return to Real Madrid, however Barnett has weakened that connection.
“[ Komentet e Bale ] “They were completely taken out of context,” Barnett told BBC Sport Wales.
“There is no deadline [mbi një vendim]. “He’s just focusing now.”
Just a few days ago Bale himself seemed to suggest that his goal was to have another chance at Real Madrid’s plans.
“The main reason I came to Spurs this year was to play football first and foremost,” Bale said.
“Entering Euro 2020, I wanted to be suitable. “The original plan was to spend a season at Spurs and after the Euro to stay another year at Real Madrid.”
“My plan is to come back, that’s what I planned.”
It remains to be seen, then, what decision Bale will make regarding the place where he wants to play next season.
Real Madrid may not be too eager for his return, however, as they look to the future and want to give up the big salary of the Welsh representative.
With names like Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland on Zinedine Zidane’s wish list, earning very high from the sale of Bale, a player not in his plans is likely to be the club’s favorite option. /Telegraph/
