Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger was sent home earlier in training by Thomas Tuchel on Sunday after a collision with one of his team-mates.
According to what he reports Daily Telegraph, the German center-back had a heated debate with goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, resulting in Rudiger’s departure from his coach. It all came a day after the shock of The Blues, in the 5-2 loss to West Brom at Stamford Bridge.
Tuchel ended his 14-match unbeaten run on Saturday and reminded his players of the need to stay focused and calm after the match. But player frustrations apparently show up on Sunday.
The confrontation between Rudiger and Kepa was, according to Telegraph sources, from a minor intrusion. The goalkeeper reacted and the argument turned into a clash between the two.
Tuchel intervened and sent the defender to the locker rooms to calm down, with Kepan being considered calm enough to end the training session.
The 28-year-old Rudiger reportedly voluntarily apologized to the Spanish goalkeeper, then went home.
But, these were not the only Chelsea players who clashed after their loss on Saturday by Sam Allardyce’s team. The Blues captain Cesar Azpilicueta and his colleague Reece James also apparently had an exchange of words in the locker room. /Telegraph/
