Diogo Jota will be out for six to eight weeks

Liverpool striker Diogo Jota will be out for six to eight weeks, Jurgen Klopp has announced.

The Portuguese has excelled with the Reds jersey since being transferred from Wolverhampton Wanderers scoring five goals in nine Premier League appearances and four goals in six Champions League appearances.

However, in Wednesday’s match against Midtjylland, he injured his knee, so he will be missing for a few weeks.

“Yes, it is worse than we thought at first and better than we thought then,” the Liverpool coach told reporters.

“All potential surgeons have seen it, there is no need for surgery. However, it will be missing for a while. We do not know exactly how much, but from a month and a half to two months. “We do not know exactly,” Klopp added. /telegraph/
