Ilkay Gundogan has expressed his conviction that the new format of the Champions League is slightly worse than the two bad ones compared to the European Super League, while asking if anyone thinks about the players.
This week’s football titles have been dominated by the proposed formation of a new competition called the European Super League featuring 12 of the richest clubs in European football.
But, this foundation and this idea of implementing the European Super League has been condemned worldwide by football fans and experts.
This announcement made UEFA announce after a few hours for a new format of the Champions League amidst the chaos, but even that is not that it was well received by the players.
Manchester City star Gundogan believes the new format of the Champions League has the potential to be almost as harmful to players as the controversial European Super League plans.
“With all the Super League stuff going on, can we also talk about the new format of the Champions League? More and more matches, does no one think about us players? ”.
“The new format of the Champions League is a little worse than the two bad ones, compared to the Super League,” Gundogan initially wrote in Twitter.
“The current format of the Champions League works great and that is why it is the most popular club competition in the world – for us players and for the fans,” the midfielder wrote in another post. / Telegraphy /
