Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has again stated that he needs a transfer of a center-back after the victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
Joel Matip damaged his ankle ligaments during the first half of the Premier League 3-1 win over Tottenham on Thursday night.
Liverpool were already without Fabinho, who had lost the game with a minor muscle problem.
With the long-term injuries of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez, the Reds ended the game with Jordan Henderson and Nat Phillips as center-back doubles and 19-year-old Rhys Williams as the only other option.
“You can imagine that we think about everything, of course,” the Liverpool coach initially said.
“We have been thinking all the time, we are thinking all the time. “It’s about doing the right thing.”
“I am not a voter or anything, but we have to find the right player.”
“We still have players, but not many on the defensive line to be honest – it’s really incredible what is happening,” Klopp concluded. / Telegraphy /
