English club Manchester United reportedly did not allow Dutchman Donny van de Beek to leave on loan in the January transfer window.
The Dutch midfielder arrived at United from Ajax last summer and came as a big transfer after being paid a full 55 million euros for him.
However, he has struggled to get regular playing time, even with the recent absence of Paul Pogba due to injury.
Van de Beek is more of a reserve in the mind of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the moment.
According to the well-known journalist Fabrizio Romano, Solskjaer and United received an offer from an undisclosed club outside England for van de Beek.
The move would have been a six-month loan, but United rejected the deal and wanted to keep the player. / Telegraphy /
