Thomas Tuchel revealed exactly how difficult life will be as a Chelsea manager on Wednesday night, not because of the game with the Wolves, but because Cesar Azpilicueta is not an easy name to pronounce.
The new Chelsea manager took over from Frank Lampard on Tuesday, but was directly in action and took control of the team for the match against Wolves yesterday (Wednesday).
Unfortunately for the German, the team was unable to win, with Nuno Espirito Santos’s team taking a 0-0 draw at Stamford Bridge, although the Blues had more chances.
The start of the Premier League for Tuchel was difficult, not only on the pitch, but also in pronouncing the names of his players.
An entertaining video showed Tuchel calling Azpilicuetan shortly before the second half to give him some final instructions. After talking to the Spaniard, Pulisic came to correct the pronunciation of the name by his coach.
After the match, the former PSG coach was asked about using Pulisic from the bench and he revealed that he felt he knew he could trust the American from the bench after working with him in Germany.
He also confirmed that the 22-year-old had indeed corrected him on how to say Azpilicueta’s name correctly. / Telegraphy /
