Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has asked the English club to sell Granit Xhaka and transfer him to zero parameters.
The Gunners suffered a 1-0 result from Burnley on Sunday at the Emirates Stadium, while the Albanian footballer was sent off with a red card.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored an own goal, while Xhaka grabbed Ashley Westwood by the throat, so that after the VAR review, the yellow card turned into red.
Frimpong, who had been with Arsenal for 13 years, joining the club at the age of nine, criticized the team and said that Mikel Arteta should sell Xhaka and transfer him as a free agent.
“Sell Xhaka and take me for free,” Frimpong wrote on social media.
The 28-year-old, who is without a club, has said that Arsenal fans should not accept this level of performance.
“Fans deserve so much better than that,” was one of several of his posts after Sunday night’s loss. /telegraph/
