Liverpool-Manchester City is now the biggest rivalry in English football said former English star of Citizens and many other clubs, Trevor Sinclair.
Comparing it to the time when Manchester United-Arsenal became a necessary rivalry to be seen in the late 1990s and early 2000s, Sinclair has said that now this epithet belongs to Liverpool and City.
“This is the biggest rivalry in English football right now,” Sinclair initially told talkSPORT.
“Manchester City and Liverpool – 100%”. “It’s the new Manchester United-Arsenal or Manchester United-Liverpool derby.”
“I think this is the most anticipated match in English football and it has been for the last few years,” concluded the Englishman.
Sinclair’s view comes from the fact that City and Liverpool have been the best Premier League teams in recent seasons.
The clubs had an extraordinary battle for the title in the 2018-19 season, as City won the championship with 98 points against Liverpool with 97 points.
Many people expected Liverpool and City to fight for the title again this season, although United are currently between the two clubs in the standings. / Telegraphy /
