Thiago Silva has named the ten toughest strikers he has faced so far in his career.
The Chelsea defender, who has also played for Milan and Paris Saint-Germain, has mentioned names such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Didier Drogba.
Each of the players impressed the Brazilian, who of course had difficulty stopping them when he was in front of them.
“The ten strongest and toughest players I have ever had the opportunity to play against are: Angel Di Maria, because of his technical quality and his incredible left foot,” Silva initially said.
“[Kylian] “Mbappe, because of its speed and technical quality as well.”
Blue legend Drogba is also high on Silva’s list of fiercest opponents, as is his compatriot Robert Firmino.
He continued: “Drogba, because of his physical strength & despite being very strong, he still has a lot of technical skills.”
“Firmino, very intelligent in his movement that leaves the defenders a little lost.”
“Romario, his intelligence in the area. “He is the best I have seen in the area.”
Among those also highly praised by Silva is former Inter and Brazil player Adriano, who was one of the deadliest strikers in the world at his time.
He said: “Adriano, like Drogba, he had incredible strength, his left foot was extraordinary.”
“I will say [Zlatan] “Ibrahimovic because he is someone who inspired me.”
“I had the chance to play with and against him. “He is the fourth best on my list.”
Surprisingly, Silva also ranks Neymar, Ronaldo and Messi as the most intricate strikers he has ever faced.
He said: “Neymar, because of his class, intelligence and magic. He has the technical qualities and ability to create action out of nothing.
“Secondly, Cristiano Ronaldo. His professionalism, dedication and passion for football. I admire him for his commitment and all that he has achieved.
“First, Messi, because he has an extraordinary quality and a gift from God. Also, because of the professional that is. “For me, he is the best.”
“I could also mention the Ronaldo Phenomenon, but I could not play with or against him.”
Silva is currently playing for Chelsea and his class continues to be consistent despite his age. /Telegraph/
