Tuchel shows why he did not activate Werner, but makes a big promise to the German striker

Timo Werner is one of Chelsea’s most sensational transfers in the summer transfer window.

But the German striker after a good start failed to show his class, passing 11 games in the league without scoring a goal.

Chelsea changed coach and now the team is led by German Thomas Tuchel, who in his debut match against Wolverhampton (0-0) left his compatriot on the bench.

Tuchel has given the reason why he did not activate Werner in this meeting, saying that the striker is not having a good time.

“The reason I did not use Werner on Wednesday is that he is a little upset with the situation he is going through and has a lot of weight on his shoulders,” Tuchel said.

The German coach says his goal is to restore Werner ‘s confidence and make him laugh again.

“For now, the important thing is to regain his confidence and see Timo smile again.”

“My job is to help him regain his confidence and then we will look to find the best position where we can use it,” Tuchel said.

Werner this season has played 28 games in all competitions with Chelsea, where he has scored nine goals and donated six assists. / Telegraphy /
