The two big English clubs from London, Arsenal and Chelsea are looking at Eric Garcia’s situation in Manchester City and are ready to rival Barcelona for his transfer.
According to Daily Star, Garcia agreed a free transfer to Barcelona earlier this season – but the Catalan giants are in financial trouble and have now changed the terms of the deal.
They want the 20-year-old to receive a lower fixed salary, with the rest made from bonus payments based on appearances.
This has opened the door for rival clubs – with Arsenal and Chelsea among those who had previously watched the Spain defender, whose contract expires in June.
Gunners coach Mikel Arteta has worked with Garcian at City and is a big fan of him, while Chelsea are also looking for new center-backs.
Both clubs have the financial power to defeat Barcelona’s offer for the player, who had verbally agreed to a five-year contract. / Telegraphy /
